Elizabeth Fournier — The Green Reaper on Death, Funerals, and Dying Differently

This week’s conversation is with Elizabeth Fournier, better known as The Green Reaper. Elizabeth runs a funeral home in Boring, Oregon where she specializes in green and at-home burials. She’s also the author of a memoir by the same name, and has been a fierce advocate for more natural and meaningful end-of-life options.

We talk about everything from how green burials work and where they’re legal, to newer trends like human composting and water-based cremation. Elizabeth also shares her personal beliefs about what happens when we die, and offers a touching message she’d leave behind for her loved ones.
